launched on - 29th June 2017
India's latest communication satellite GSAT-17 was
successfully launched from Kourou in French Guiana on 29th June 2017 by French
rocket Ariane-5.
The European launcher Arianespace Flight VA238 blasted off
from Ariane Launch Complex No 3 (ELA 3) at Kourou which is a French territory
located in the northeastern coast of South America. It was delayed by couple of minutes than the
scheduled time of 2:29 hrs India time.

Indian-American Krishna R Urs was appointed as the United
States (US) Ambassador to Peru by the President Donald Trump administration on
28th June 2017.
He is currently serving as the Charge d' Affairs of the US

Narendra Kumar Sinha who is a 1980-batch IAS officer from
Bihar, took over as Secretary in the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting
on 30th June 2017.
He will be succeeding IAS officer Ajay Mittal who is getting
transferred. Before his appointment, Sinha was the Secretary in the Ministry of
Culture under Government of India.
